“RIGHT place. Right time. That just about sums up Rob Casey’s photography. I was in the right place at the right time when I first worked with him in the mid-90s as he ‘learned his trade’ at Rangers. I was hugely impressed by his early work. If a major incident happened in a game – a goal, a sending off, a bad tackle – Rob would invariably have nailed it. Pin sharp.

Rob moved to join me at First Press and his portfolio expanded to include different clients including Celtic, Loch Lomond Golf Club and the SRU. No matter the assignment, Rob consistently produced fantastic pictures – exactly to spec but all stamped with his unique talent and vision. His enthusiasm for the job and for always wanting to improve his work was relentless.

We both moved on to bigger and better things at the Daily Record and Rob quickly established himself as one of the country’s best sports photographers.

He’s sadly missed at our place now but no matter where his career path now takes him I’m certain he will continue to produce stunning images and be one of Scotland’s best snappers.
